What Our Customers Are Saying
Contacted Scott from Freshcoat painting services regarding drywall repair and repainting of a bathroom and master bedroom wall that had been damaged from water leaking from an adjoining window. Came to my home on Sunday and was emailed a proposal to repair and repaint the whole wall corner to corner including caulking, waterproof primer and 2 coats of matching paint. Gave him the okay to proceed via email and phone and informed that someone would be coming the following day (Monday).
On Monday morning worker arrives around 7:45a and leaves @ 8:30a. My brother was informed that the worker needed to consult with Scott about completing the job. As he left he told my brother that he would be back after he spoke to Scott.
At approximately 6:00pm (9.5 hours) I text Scott and asked him what happened to his guy? (No response)
At 8:30 pm I called Scott and asked him what happened? In a nutshell he said that his worker was not skilled enough to complete hanging new gyp board and taping. He pondered about this job and ultimately dropped the ball. I told him that this is poor business practice on many fronts.
He is charging me $430 and paying this unskilled laborer probably $20/hr.
He failed to complete a job that he estimated and provided a proposal for.
He didn't have the common courtesy to inform me in a timely manner of his inability to complete this job.
He made me waste a whole day waiting for his worker to return.
I would not recommend Freshcoat painting to any of my friends or family (maybe to people who I don't care for Hahahaha)!
The stairwell in our home was once an embarrassment. I'm sure stairwells in housing projects look better. We used a person from Scott's company to paint the area. My husband could have done it, but the stairwell is very high and oddly shaped. I didn't want him getting a spinal cord injury falling off a ladder. Better to use professionals who are licensed and insured. We went with Freshcoat Painting because it's a Better Business Bureau accredited company and EPA Lead Safe Certified Firm.
When we called Scott to give us an estimate, he promptly came over the same day we called. The estimate was reasonable for patching, some minor repair work and cost of supplies. The painter who came to do the work showed up on time and finished the work on time. It was a professional job all around. We paid with a check. I would have liked to put it on my credit card to get some miles or cash back, but writing a check is no big deal.
